37 hours per week 

You will be assisting the development and implementation of the Council’s economic plan by way of projects, programmes and initiatives that promote local economic prosperity. 

Able to demonstrate appropriate experience and skills with an understanding of economic development issues, ideally with an awareness and understanding of the rural economy.  You will be educated to A level standard or equivalent with experience of carrying out research and presenting results. You will be an effective communicator and able to demonstrate successful collaborative working.

Working within an attractive rural area, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team dealing with economic development, strategic planning, and housing. You will be involved in a diverse range of issues from market town plans; farm diversification and tourism; to local employment sites and sub-regional aerospace developments. You will also be involved in related planning policy matters.

A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to work outside normal office hours are both essential.
