Ribble Valley is a beautiful part of Lancashire with designated AONB status.   It has thriving market towns and good transport links. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and experienced Environmental Health Officer to be the lead officer for pollution control.

As part of a small busy team, you will have special responsibility for air quality and noise pollution. You will carry out the inspection of permitted processes in line with Pollution Prevention Control (PPC) legislation and produce Ribble Valley’s Annual Air Quality Status Report under LAQM.

You will also lead on the investigation of pollution complaints and public health nuisances, arising from commercial and domestic premises.

Successful applicants will have a degree/diploma in Environmental Health (or equivalent) and registration with EHRB.  Good IT skills, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle, as well as a flexible approach to working hours, are also essential requirements of the post.
