Site visit The dwelling in question is a detached bungalow with an existing detached garage. the proposal intends to demolish the existing garage and erect a side and rear extension in its place. The side part of the extension has been designed so that the dwelling would be symmetrical in appearence. This is acceptable. The objection letter from no. 36 raises the issue of the loss of light to the garden area and to the 'master bedroom window' in the gable elevation facing no. 34 Straits Lane. Using the BRE Methodology, it shows that only one of the two measures creates a loss of light and as such will not be of significant detriment to the residential amenity of the neighbours.
