Semi-rural area on the outskirts of Whalley. There is a row of houses, differing in style. Marwin is a two storey detached house, in pebbledash render. The proposal is a two storey rear extension, of 3.9 x 6.9 x 7.8 metres and it will have a pitched roof coming out from the existing pitch. There are no houses to the rear and the visual impact of the proposal will not be detrimental to the surrounding area. There are houses of different sizes and shapes in the row and the proposal would not look out of place, or too large. There will be no windows in the proposed side elevations, although there is a window proposed in the side elevation of the existing house at first floor level. This window would serve a bedroom and would cause minimal overlooking issues, as it is not large. Loss of light would be minimal; the neighbouring property is south of, and over 5metres away from Marwin. There is also a garage in the ownership of Amber-Lea, which would reduce the view of the proposal. 09/01/2006 |
