The property is on the outskirts of Langho, very close to the A59. The street has a mixture of houses, some being detached bungalows, some semi detached. Lyndon is a detached bungalow in part red brick, part pebbledash render. It has a grey pan tile hipped roof. The proposal is to convert the bungalow in a two storey house with the installation of three dormers, two to the side and one to the rear, and erection of a conservatory to the rear of 3.2 x 3 metres. The visual impact of the proposal will be large, but of no detrimental impact to the area. It will change the appearance of the house significantly, but the proposal would not appear out of place or too large. The dormers are well designed in that they are pitched and not a flat roof. The conservatory will not be of any visual impact to the surrounding area. There will be minimal overlooking and loss of privacy issues, as the dormers windows would overlook the garden area and the restaurant. The bathroom window to the north elevation would be obscurely glazed, protecting the privacy of the neighbouring house, Hollocombe. The conservatory would be conditioned to be obscurely glazed on the north elevation to reduce the impact of overlooking, and would not be of any detriment to the local area.
