The property is a two storey detached house in Whalley. The proposal is for a two storey side extension and a rear conservatory. The measurements of which will be - two storey side extension projecting 4.3m from the side elevation, being 8.5m in length and adjoining the pitch of the existing roof (7.2m) with a gable end. There will also be a small feature gable to the front. The conservatory will project 3m from the rear elevation and will be 3.6m wide. It will be 3.4m high at the apex of the roof. The proposal for the conservatory will cause minimal issues with regards loss of light to neighbouring properties. Loss of privacy will minimal due to no. 13 being set back from no.11 and there being a side wall on the boundary which has no windows. The size and design is acceptable. The two storey side extension will cause minimal overlooking or loss of privacy issues to surrounding neighbours, as there are no neighbours in a relatively close proximity, in which an impact could occur. There is a large side garden. The design and size of the proposal is acceptable and in keeping with the area. It will be a large extension, but it will not cause an incongruous feature to the area. The front gable end will add an interesting feature. 04/04/2006 |
