The property is a stone built mid-terrace in the centre of Chatburn. The proposal is for a front porch being 1.4m x 1.7m x 3.6m. It will be built in similar stone with blue slate pitched roof. The existing house is in the similar materials and the area is residential. The proposal will have windows in both side elevations, causing an overlooking impact on no.2 Shaw Gardens, however if obscure glazing was implemented into the scheme, it would reduce this impact. The size of the proposal is not detrimental and would be in keeping with the area. There are no other porches in the set of terraces; however, I do not see a problem with setting a precedent by approving this application. There will be no loss of light issues with the development. 17/02/2006 |
