The property is a large pub situated on the outskirts of Mellor. The proposal is for 1no advertisement board, being 2.4m tall and 1.9m wide. A down facing trough light externally illuminates it and it is existing. The sign is in a relatively prominent position, being easily viewed from the roadside and the entrance to the site. The pub is situated in an elevated location. The sign is positioned in an incongruous place and appears out of place within the open countryside and adjacent to greenbelt.As there is an existing smaller sign adjacent to the proposed, in my opinion there is an over intensification of signs at the site, especially being in open countryside and in a prominent location.
