The school is situated in the centre of Mellor, off Church Lane. The proposal is for a porch and canopy to the north elevation. The porch is proposed to be 2m wide and a 1.8m projection from the rear elevation. It will have a sloping roof and will be 2.7m high at the highest point. The proposed canopy is proposed to project 1.8m from the front door, and will be 2.2m wide. It will have an arched roof, with the maximum height being 2.8m. The proposal would not impact greatly in terms of visual amenity or neighbouring amenity. There is sufficient space between neighbouring properties to cause minimal impact. The proposals are small and are of an acceptable design. They would not detriment the area in terms of appearance and not cause any form of loss of privacy or light. I therefore recommend accordingly. 06/06/2006 |
