The property is a detached house on Alston Lane in Longridge. The proposal is to demolish an existing single storey rear extension and construct a larger single storey rear extension, projecting 6m from the rear elevation, and being the width of the existing house (9.8m). It will have a pitched roof and will be 5m high at the highest point, and 2.5m high at the eaves. There is one neighbouring property to the north of the house. There would be minimal loss of amenity issues as there is a significant distance between and screening in place. The design is acceptable, being a pitched roof and in keeping with the existing house. The size of the extension is significant, however would not form a detrimental feature and is acceptable. 23/06/2006 |
