The property is a mid-terrace on Humber Street in the centre of Longridge. The proposal is for the erection of a garage being 5.5m long by 4m wide. It will have a pitched roof and will be 2.6m at the apex. It is proposed to be built in block rendered.There is an existing garden at present, although many gardens in the street have garages situated on them with associated parking. The proposal is to be situated slightly forward of the other garages in the street, however as there is a two storey retail shop to the southwest of the garden which is forward of the garages and closer to the proposed, the impact will be insignificant. There are neighbouring gardens to the sides of the proposal; however there would be minimal loss of privacy/light as the proposal is single storey and an acceptable size. As there are several other garages in situ, the precedent has been set for an application of this sort. 12/06/2006 |
