Site visit The property is a two storey semi-detached house in Chatburn. The application is for a single storey garage to the side elevation, projecting 2.5m from the side elevation and being 4.2m long. It will have a sloping roof, sloping upwards from the front elevation of the house, the maximum height being 3.5m. There are minimal issues to consider with the proposal. It will not cause any loss of amenity issues to surrounding neighbours, due to its size and there being no windows proposed on the side elevation. The design is acceptable as it will fit in with the existing house, in terms of the sloping roof will match the front elevation detail. It will not form a detrimental feature to the street scene and the size is acceptable. There is an existing garage to the side of the house, in the neighbour's ownership.
