The proposal is for a replacement building being 21.5m x 9m x 5.5m. It will replace a block built structure, which is in a dilapidated state and has no roof. The issues with this development are the design, size and location. The design of the structure is oak boarded building with a corrugated pitched roof. There is a small covered area to the front. It will fit well into the surrounding environment. It will replace an ugly structure and will improve the set up off the small business. There is sufficient existing landscaping to obscure the view of the proposal from any vantage point, and there are other buildings around which consist of glasshouses and timber structures. All of these buildings make up the small enterprise and are all used within the business. The size of the proposed building is smaller than the existing building and would not be an incongruous feature within the area. It would enhance the local business, therefore complying with EMP8 and will not be detrimental to the surrounding area. The proposal is not allwoing new build, simply replacing a building already. 03/02/2006 |
