Site visit The property is a detached two storey house on the out skirts of Clitheroe. The proposal follows an approval of an application in 2005 for a two storey rear extension (3/2005/0499). The proposal is to erect a small balcony from the rear bedroom, projecting 0.8metres and being 2.5metres wide. It will be 3metres high at the base and will have iron railings around it being 1.4metres high. In my opinion, the houses on this street are very well spaced, and therefore there would be minimal overlooking issues with regards to adjacent neighbouring properties. There are properties to the rear, however there are established trees, which obscure any view onto the rear properties. They are also over 25metres away. I have no objection to the design and find it acceptable. The proposal will not be detrimental to the surrounding area, and will enable the applicant to open the doors safely, without causing an obstruction.
