The property is on the outskirts of Langho, very close to the A59. The street has a mixture of houses, some being detached bungalows, some semi detached. Lyndon is a detached bungalow in part red brick, part pebbledash render. It has a grey pan tile hipped roof. The proposal is to convert the bungalow in a two storey house with the installation of a dormer window to the front, an increase in the roof pitch and a gable end to the rear. The visual impact of the proposal will be large, but of no detrimental impact to the area. It will change the appearance of the house significantly, but the proposal would not appear out of place or too large. Lyndon is of a differing style from the rest of the houses in the street, and the impact will not cause an incongruous feature. The dormer is well designed in that it is a pitched and not a flat roof. There will be minimal overlooking and loss of privacy issues, as the dormer window would overlook the road.The conservatory will not be of any visual impact to the surrounding area or cause any amenity issues. There would be minimal with loss of light with regards to whole proposal. 19/05/2006 |
